BrainFocus develops new diagnostic tools to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency for patients with drug-resistant epilepsy.
BrainFocus is a spin-off of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), dedicated to bringing to market technology that assists in the diagnosis of drug-resistant epilepsy. We are a team of mathematicians, engineers, researchers and business experts with broad experience in computational neuroscience and epilepsy research.
We count on the support of neurologists with a recognized career in clinical practice. With 15 years of research experience, our team wants to bridge the gap between computational and clinical neuroscience.
Our goal? To transform advanced computational tools into real epilepsy care.
We apply signal processing tools to brain recordings to increase confidence during the diagnosis of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. Our tools offer objective quantifications that complement the clinician’s visual inspection and put together all modalities of relevant diagnostic data.
We have developed BrainFocus iEEG, for intracranial recordings, and are currently working on extending our technology to unravel brain network connectivity.
